Badral Chuluunbaatar studied music at the Mongolia College of Music and Dance from 2006 to 2012. He then began his studies at the Gnessin Russian Music Academy, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in 2016. The baritone began his stage career in his native country of Mongolia. In 2014 he played Count di Luna in Il Trovatore at the Mongolian Theatre of Opera and Ballet, where in 2016 he also appeared as Valentin in Faust. In 2015 he took the title role in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin at the Theater of Opera and Ballet in Magnitogorsk (Russia). Badral is also a soloist in the Mongolian War Song and Dance Ensemble. He has already successfully participated in many competitions, most recently in September 2017 at the International Virgilijus Noreika Competition for Singers in Lithuania. He was also a semi-finalist in this year’s International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition. In 2016 he won the International Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov Competition.
