The 22-year-old Wang Chen has been studying at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing under Tian Xie since 2013. She starting learning to play the piano at the age of four. She has been taking singing lessons since she was twelve years old. The Chinese soprano was a finalist in the NEUE STIMMEN competition in 2015. Since then she has won first prize at the Classical Singer International Vocal Competition and came second at the Third National Competition for Art Songs in Colleges of Art. In 2016 Chen took part in the NEUE STIMMEN International Singing Competition Master Class. In addition to vocal and breathing technique as well as body work and mental training, she was also given coaching on important extra-musical skills such as career management, networking and audition training. As well as her love of music, the singer likes to spend time drawing and reading.
