Damir Rakhmonov will be performing in the 2017/18 season at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre. There he will sing the role of B. F. Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly. The tenor completed his music studies at the State Conservatory in Uzbekistan in 2014. During his time there he gained experience on stage in the roles of Rodolfo (La bohème), Vaudémont (Iolanta) and Luigi (Il tabarro). Between 2014 and 2016 Damir appeared at the Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Theatre, where he played the roles of Takhir in Takhir and Zukhra, Aladdin in the children’s opera Aladdin’s Magic Lamp and Hamid Alimdzhan in Fidelity, all of which are operas by Uzbek composers. In 2015 he also gave a guest performance as Lensky (Eugene Onegin) at the Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre in Russia. Damir has already enjoyed success in numerous singing competitions. In 2016 he was awarded the Grand Prize at the Nazira Akhmedova Vocal Competition. He also won the “Bella Voce” competition in 2014.
