Sophia Theodorides has been a member of the ensemble at the Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck since the 2016/17 season. So far, she has sung the roles of Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro, Amor in Orfeo ed Euridice, Oscar in Un ballo di maschera and A Female Italian Singer in Capriccio. This season she will appear as Olympia in The Tales of Hoffmann. Before studying singing at the Robert Schumann University in Dusseldorf, Sophia was a successful trumpet player. The coloratura soprano made her debut in the title role of Rita and gained further experience on stage in the roles of Morgana (Alcina), Nella (Gianni Schicchi), First Alms Sister (Suor Angelica) and Great Fiorentino (Street Scene). In 2015, having won the International Singing Competition Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg, she sang the role of Fanny in the world premiere of Marc-Aurel Floros' opera Adriana. In 2016 Sophie gave a guest performance as Princess in The Snow Queen at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Dusseldorf. In the same year she was a finalist in the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition.
