Christina Nilsson will be singing in the 2017/18 season at the Royal Opera House in Stockholm. She will appear in the title role of Verdi’s Aida. In summer 2017 the singer completed her music studies at the University College of Opera in Stockholm. During her time there she gained stage experience as one of the three noble orphans in Der Rosenkavalier and as Anna in Min bror är Don Juan (My Brother is Don Juan.) She also appeared at the Vadstena Academy as The Magician (Son of Heaven) and Geltrude (Enrico di Borgogna). In spring 2017 she was selected to perform as guest soloist at the Opéra de Lyon. There she sang the role of the Overseer in Elektra and was understudy for the role of Chrysothemis. Christina has already performed as a concert soloist at the Stockholm Concert Hall and the Swedish Royal Palace. In 2016 she won first prize and the People’s Choice Prize at the Wilhelm Stenhammar Music Competition.
