Biography

Brazilian/Italian pianist Alfredo Abbati received his master degree at the “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris” with highest honours under the guidance of Erika Guiomar. During the 2009-2010 season he was a vocal coach at “Centre de Perfeccionament Plácido Domingo” in Valencia (Spain), in 2014-2015 at “Atelier Lyrique at Opéra National de Paris” (France) and since 2017 at “Salzburger Festspiele”.

In his experience he has worked on many productions, such as; Salomé, Tosca, Fidelio (conductor: Zubin Mehta), La Scala di seta, L’Italiana in Algeri (conductor: Alberto Zedda), Ariane à Naxos (conductor: Andrew Davis) at Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia, Spain; Die Walküre, Götterdämmerung at Teatro Municipal de São Paulo, Brazil; Lulu, Parsifal, Carmen at Teatro Amazonas de Manaus, Brazil; Falstaff, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Un Ballo in Maschera, Lucrezia Borgia in La Coruña, Spain; Orphée et Eurydice, Aida, Madama Butterfly, Powder her Face, Tristan und Isolde, Les dialogues des Carmélites at Théâtre de La Monnaie in Brussels, Otello at Opéra National de Paris, La Fille du Régiment, Andrea Chénier at Teatro del Liceu in Barcelona, Les Pêcheurs de Perles, Adriana Lecouvreur at Salzburger Festspiele, etc...

In these productions, he was lucky to have worked with renowned singers and conductors such as: Anna Nerebko, Anita Rachvelishvili, Placido Domingo, Bryn Terfel, Jonas Kaufmann, Sondra Radvanovsky, Siegfried Jerusalem, Albert Dohmen, Hanna Schwarz, Aida Gurifullina, John Daszak, Camila Nylund, Gregory Reinhart, Stéphanie d'Oustrac, Sandrine Piau, Olga Peretyatko, Patricia Petibon, Stephane Degout, Sophie Koch, Véronique Gens, Javier Camarena, Ewa Podles, Michael Spyres, Mariella Devia, Lorin Maazel, Gianandrea Nozeda, Hervé Niquet, Pinchas Steinberg, Marco Armiliato, Alain Altinoglu, Christophe Rousset, Jérémie Rhorer, Georges Prêtre...

In recital, he has played with “Atelier Lyrique” at “Opéra Garnier” in Paris, with Paulo Szot at “Palazzo Pamphilij” in Rome, with Gemma Ni Bhriain at “National Concert Hall” in Dublin, with Marianne Cornetti at “Auditorio de Ferrol” (Spain), with Allison Cook at Téâtre Royal de La Monnaie, with Vito Priante at “Festival Nuits de Chéronne (France)...
